SHELL CANADA – WINNIPEG DISTRIBUTION TERMINAL

CEL was contracted to manage the first major electrical upgrade of Shell Canada’s Winnipeg Terminal since its initial construction. Work was completed in stages over a two-year period, with strategic area outages to ensure the plant remained operational throughout.

The original plant was rewired from top to bottom. This included the facility’s 69 KV incoming power systems, 15 KV switch gear, site-wide 5 KV distribution, and all plant motor leads. CEL upgraded the entire SIS system and installed a new fiber optic network. In addition, we were responsible for design-build electrical and communications services for a newly constructed 4,200 sq ft terminal office building.

CEL’s extensive experience retrofitting old facilities to meet stringent, modern day code requirements allowed us to complete all work on budget and ahead of schedule
