Safety First – 2022 President’s Safety Award

The 2022 President’s Safety Award was presented to the CEL Calgary group for continuing our mission towards zero injuries and showing great advancements in making safety a top priority! Calgary showed great momentum and a strong commitment to safety by working hard to increase their Observation cards and promoting our safety culture. CEL established this annual award to recognize the branch that has gone above and beyond in creating the safest possible workplaces – with a goal of zero injuries or incidents. All our branches do such a fantastic job prioritizing site safety that it is always hard for us to choose one above the rest. This year, Calgary’s effort in taking leadership of our safety program was outstanding. Congratulations to the Calgary Team! Keep up the great work!

May 2, 2023 G3 Rycroft’s 42,000 Tonnes Capacity Grain Elevator

CEL is privileged to be part of creating another grain elevator for G3, this one in Rycroft, AB. The new elevator will have a capacity of 42,000 tonnes of grain. It includes a loop track that can load a 150-car unit train and the ability to unload a Super-B truck in less than five minutes! CEL’s strategically located branches, skilled teams, and standardized procedures allowed us to assure the same high standards at each construction site. Rycroft is a collaboration between 3 CEL offices, Saskatoon, Camrose and Calgary. Our team did a great job of keeping with the client's aggressive completion timeline while maintaining good safety performance from all the crew! A very special thanks to Lee S., Sean M., Travis V., Shane O., Dylan H., Johnny H. and Ches R.!!

March 29, 2023 Giving Christmas Blessings to Families in Need

CEL Christmas Donation ProjectCEL has always believed that it is important to actively participate in the communities we serve. Supporting local charities, community groups and non-profit organizations that benefit the community is part of our company mandate.

In 2021, and again in 2022, CEL participated in raising money for our Christmas Donation Project. We found it remarkably rewarding to give back to the community, especially when many have been struggling throughout the recent economic challenges. Every branch was involved with choosing a family or organization in need to help provide Christmas gifts and fulfill needs that they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to afford.

CEL is so proud to promote a culture that encourages team members to contribute time and resources to support the communities around us.

July 8, 2022 CEL’s Christmas Donation Project

CEL has always believed that it is important to actively participate in the communities we serve. Supporting local charities, community groups and non-profit organizations that benefit the community is part of our company mandate. In 2021, CEL participated in raising money for our Christmas Donation Project. We found it remarkably rewarding to give back to the community, especially when many have been struggling throughout the pandemic. Our Winnipeg branch was tasked with distributing $10,000 of donations to the Fort Garry Women’s Resource Centre (FGWRC). CEL Winnipeg purchased items to support the needs of the centre and the women and children they encourage. Located in Winnipeg, the FGWRC is committed to creating a community where women & children are safe, healthy, valued and empowered. A close friend shared that she benefited from the FGWRC’s help when she became a single mom and that she still volunteers with them to help others. With her help and FGWRC’s wish list, CEL went shopping for the items needed to put together emergency hygiene and food kits. We also purchased items to donate such as children’s toques, jewellery, and kid’s books to be placed on their giveaway table so that women and children can take what they need when they come into the Centre. CEL is so proud to promote a culture that encourages team members to contribute time and resources to support the communities around us.
