Fraser Grain Terminal – Design-Build Electrical Package

CEL was engaged by our client to deliver a full turn-key design-build electrical package for the Fraser Grain Terminal located on the Fraser River at the Port of Vancouver in Surrey BC.

FGT is a grain export terminal with a capacity of 73,000 metric tonnes of grain storage, 20,000 metric tonnes of flat storage and a semi-loop rail track system for over 300 railcars. It has a 2000 tonne per hour conveyance system feeding out to a 3 tower shiploader with slewing and retracting capabilities for loading Panamax, Supramax and Handymax vessels. FGT also incorporates a sea container loading system to fill containers with grain for storage and transport. This 2-year project is now loading approximately 80 bulk vessels per year, supporting farmers and increasing efficiency in Canada Grain exports.

CEL’s turn-key EIC package included demolition of the existing site electrical infrastructure, supply and installation of a new 25KV substation, transformers, switchgear & MCCs. CEL supplied, installed and provided start up commissioning services for the process equipment, field instrumentation, fiber network, site lighting, stadium-pole lighting & sitewide CCTV surveillance.
